A house full of memories.
Memories of the original residents of Huis Janssens, of the city and the Waasland region, of the museum as it once was, memories of generous donations and dedicated collectors, but also memories of how we all collected something as children, and how some of us still do.
Discover the museum experience that forms a fitting prelude to a new chapter in the history of the house. You'll see all sorts of things, from old musical instruments to modern artworks, and from books to ostrich eggs. With striking scenography that respects the architecture of the house, clear and accessible storytelling and interesting multimedia productions, the spirit of Huis Janssens is carried into the 21st century. Step inside Curiosum and enjoy a complete experience that engages all the senses through light, sound and interactive features.

For secondary schools, we offer Mysterious Murder at the Museum, a playful investigation game in which pupils work in small groups to solve a fictional crime by observing closely, reasoning logically and working together cleverly.
